Irish cyclist Nicholas Roche has confirmed that he will be competing in this year's Tour de France, riding for Team Sunweb.
It will be a 10th edition of "le tour" for man born in the Île-de-France, with his previous best result a 12th-placed finish eight years ago.
The blue-riband event of the cycle calendar is set to begin two months later than usual, with a start date of 29 August.
Speaking to RTÉ Radio 1 in May, the 35 year-old said that everything must be done to salvage a season which, like all other major sporting events in Europe, was greatly impacted by the spread of the coronavirus.
Thrilled to announce that i have been selected by @TeamSunweb for what will be my 10th @LeTour . ✌🏻👏
