Kevin O'Brien has joined the West Indies coaching staff for their forthcoming ODI series against his native Ireland.
The 38-year-old, who famously blasted the Irish to victory over England in a 2011 World Cup group match with a 50-ball century - still the tournament's quickest - retired from international cricket in 2022 after a 15-year Ireland career across all three formats.
He will now bring local expertise to head coach Daren Sammy’s set-up for games at Clontarf on 21, 23 and 25 May.
The West Indies go straight from Ireland into another three-match series in England, visiting Edgbaston, Cardiff and The Oval in what will be Harry Brook’s first assignment since replacing Jos Buttler as white-ball captain.
Shai Hope captains a 15-strong squad for the trip, which includes 18-year-old prospect Jewel Andrew and Sussex’s current overseas seamer Jayden Seales, Cricket West Indies announced.
