Shane Warne is back in the Australian cricket squad for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka after a 12 month absence. Warne was suspended for 12 months last February after failing a drugs test due to taking a banned diuretic and only completed his ban last week. The leg-spinner has been included in Australia's 15-man squad for the three-Test tour of Sri Lanka which begins next month.
Queensland all-rounder Andrew Symonds has been called up for the first time, while Michael Kasprowicz and Darren Lehmann also return after being sidelined.
Chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns said: "Despite his 12-month absence, Shane is still one of the best spin bowlers in the world, and I'm sure he'll have an important role to play on Sri Lanka's flat, turning wickets.
"He's clearly worked extremely hard on his fitness over the last few months, and we've been impressed with way he has bowled for Victoria since his return. There's no doubt that Shane is a great asset for Australian cricket."
