Thorpe leads the way

Graham Thorpe has put England firmly in the driving seat with an unbeaten 200 to build up a lead of 549 over New Zealand after day three of their test match. Andrew Flintoff also had a good day partnering Thorpe as the pair shared a stand of 281.

New Zealand wil now enter the fourth innings needing a miracle after Mark Richardson made 20 not out before play was abandoned 11 overs early. England now look to be in a position to win the opening Test of an overseas series for the first time in a decade.
