"Our heads were in our boots" was how Jennifer O'Leary's described Cork's first-half showing against Kilkenny in the All-Ireland senior camogie final.
Such critical self-assessment was to have the desired effect, and O'Leary's goal five minutes after the break was the launchpad for the Rebelettes to wipe out Kilkenny's five-point half-time advantage.
The Munster side would go on to win by 2-12 to 1-09 and lift the O'Duffy for the first time since 2009.
O'Leary was keen to play down her own contribution, focusing instead on the collective and what was said during the interval.
Speaking to RTÉ Sport, she said: "For my goal, I was in the right place at the right time. I was lucky enough to be at the end of a really good move."
As for Cork's slow start, the St John's player pondered "whether the occasion got to us."
She went on to add that the team were determined to do their utmost in the second 30 minutes and that all involved had to up their work rate.
"At half-time we all agreed that we hadn't started playing at all.
"Everybody has given 100 per cent commitment all year. We were not going to leave this behind us. We just gave it everything in the second half.
"As a team we don't rely on one single person. It takes the full panel, the full management. It really is a team effort. We needed everybody to get us over the line today, including the crowd supporting us.
"There is great belief in this Cork side."
