Firuza Sharipova is the latest mandatory challenger to Katie Taylor's lightweight throne, aiming to shock the sport with a monumental upset.
Much like the champion, the Kazakh boxer is a trailblazer in her country.
Despite the sport having a number of top level male boxers, she was the first to join the paid ranks in the nation.
As well as that, they have a familiar foe.
Russian Sofya Ochigava was a regular opponent on the amateur scene for Taylor, with the Bray boxer coming out on top in key medal bout.
Ochigava was Sharipova’s debut opposition and inflicted a first defeat five years ago.
Since that, the 27-year-old has enjoyed 12 victories over the last five years. She hasn’t fought outside of Russia or her home nation since her second career bout so it will be new waters.
But she’s kept the Russian by her side with a view to taking down the Irish star.
"I am eight years younger than Katie Taylor, I am stronger than her and Sofya Ochigava helped me to prepare for this fight," revealed Sharipova.
"No one else knows how to fight Taylor like Sofya Ochigava. Therefore, not only I, Firuza Sharipova, will be in the ring against Taylor, but the intelligence of Sofya Ochigava, who has prepared me very well for this fight, will be with me.
"Sofya has been in my camp from the very beginning, has passed on all her knowledge to me and has done her best to help me defeat Katie Taylor.
"I watched their fight in the final of the Olympic Games and I’m sure that the judges helped Taylor. Sofya knocked her down, which wasn't counted. Sofya was better in the fight, she won it.
"Taylor is usually not afraid of anyone, but in that final fight, Sophia saw fear in her eyes. Even now, Taylor refuses to fight Sofya."
Many mandatory fights have not tested Taylor and this could take a similar track judging by the standard the Kazahk has been competing at.
Seven of her 15 career fights have come against debutants. She boasts an impressive knockout ratio of eight from her 14 wins.
That is not to say she hasn’t earned the shot.
Sharipova has switched division to land minor belts at super-featherweight and super-lightweight.
But in recent fights she has had the mandatory status in mind, facing very limited opponents in April and September with a view to not risking her status.
She has a similar height and reach to Taylor and an orthodox style.
It should be a routine night for the Bray woman but she's more than aware that this is the moment Sharipova has been building to for all of her professional career.
