Kellie Harrington capped a brilliant week in France by winning gold at the European Olympic qualifiers on Tuesday after a convincing defeat of England's Caroline Dubois.
Harrington sealed her place at the Tokyo Games last Saturday when she beat reigning IBF super featherweight world champion Maiva Hamadouche.
That took an immense amount of pressure off the Dubliner's shoulders and she kicked on to make today's final, where she faced 20-year-old rising talent Dubois at Le Grand Dome.
Harrington was too strong, too experienced and too good for her opponent, most notably in the early rounds, as she took the 4:1 split decision verdict to earn gold and seriously boost her confidence ahead of July's Games.
Michaela Walsh had to settle for silver after she lost to Italian Imra Testa in the featherweight final.
Walsh had also guaranteed her place on the plane to Tokyo and can reflect on a good week's work as she sets her sights on Japan.
