The Ring magazine has named Katie Taylor as the best pound-for-pound professional woman's boxer on the planet following her dominant dismissal of Miriam Gutierrez last weekend.
Ireland's undisputed lightweight world champion was only named at number two when the sport's unofficial but respected world rankings were first applied to female boxers last August.
American light-heavyweight Clarissa Shields, like Taylor a former Olympic gold medallist, was named No 1 in the inaugural list after winning three world titles in her first 10 professional bouts.
However, The Ring's 11 judges have now decided that Taylor, who is undefeated in 17 fights in four years and has claimed five championship belts at two weights, deserves the accolade.
"It's great to be considered the pound-for-pound number one," said Taylor. "It's a very satisfying way to end the year.
"It's obviously been a very difficult year for everyone due to the pandemic so it's been great to have had the opportunity to get two fights in.
"Hopefully next year I can be even busier. There are so many great fights and challenges out there for me and I'm so excited about what's to come."
Argentine writer and Ring panellist Yesica Palmetta said: "I agree to place Taylor as the undisputed number one.
"Her boxing style is really impeccable, and she has had a series of fights where she demonstrated a quality that leaves no room for doubt."
Despite being outclassed, Gutierrez remained fourth in the lightweight rankings due to lasting the 10 punishing rounds.
Taylor's win at Wembley Arena last weekend was the first time three female world title bouts had headlined a major card.
The Bray boxer (34) hopes to fight seven-weight world champion Amanda Serrano next but other possible opponents include Brazilian MMA champion Cris Cyborg or the winner of the undisputed welterweight title rematch between Jessica McCaskill and Cecilia Brækhus.
American McCaskill, who lost to Taylor in 2017, handed Norwegian Brækhus her first career defeat in August.
