RTÉ will show Katie Taylor's World Boxing Championship semi-final on television and online this afternoon, as the Bray fighter looks to emulate her countrywoman Kellie Harrington and secure a silver medal at the least.

Light-welterweight Harrington outclassed Canada’s Sara Cali in Astana this morning to book her place in Friday's final against China's Wenlu Yang.

Now lightweight champion Taylor will bid for her sixth successive gold when she faces old foe Estelle Mossely of France at approximately 3pm, with the coverage starting at 2.30pm.

Her quarter-final win over Mexico's Victoria Torres sealed a spot at Rio, where she will defend her Olympic title in August.

Speaking to RTÉ Sport about qualification, Taylor said: "It's a dream come true, everyone knows how much the Olympic Games mean to me and to have a chance to defend my title is an absolute honour.

"It's definitely a weight off my shoulders."

Due to broadcast restrictions the coverage will be available in RoI only. Mobile users can view via the RTÉ Player app.
