Nadia Power recorded another fine performance with a second-place finish in the 800m at the latest World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meet in France.
The 23-year-old has been in blistering form in recent weeks, and recorded a time of 2:03.84 in finishing second behind Poland's Joanna Jozwik in the northern French city of Lievin.
Power ran an aggressive third lap to put herself in contention for victory, but had to settle for second with Jozwik clocking victory in a time of 2:02.97, with Great Britain’s Jemma Reekie winning the evening’s other 800m race in 2:00.64.
Last month Power set a new 800m Irish indoor record in Vienna by shaving off more than three seconds off her previous best time over the distance, and followed that up with a time of 2:02.96 in Metz last Saturday.
In the men's 1500m final, Meath’s Andrew Coscoran recorded a personal best of 3:37.20 in a race where Jakob Ingebrigsten smashed the European indoor record.
Coscoran finished in fifth place in a competitive field, with a time that makes him the fifth-fastest Irish indoor runner over that distance, behind Marcus O’Sullivan, Eamonn Coghlan, Ciarán Ó Lionáird and Mark Carroll.
Ingebrigsten demolished the field in a time of 3:31.80, with more than five seconds to spare over runner-up Marcin Lewandowski.
