Women's Dublin Marathon won in record time

Russia's Lidia Vassilevskaia has won the women’s Dublin Marathon in a record time of 2 hours, 32 minutes and 56 seconds. The Russian was almost two minutes clear of Anne Jelagat Kibor of Kenya in second place. Grazyna Syrek of Poland was third. Ann Lennon was the top Irish woman in ninth place with a time of two hours, 46 minutes and 18 seconds.

African runners dominated the men’s race. Kenya's Frederik Cherono was first home in 2 hours, 14 minutes and 23 seconds. The unrelated Luka Cherono was second while Zachariah Mpolokeng came in third. Donegal's Gary Crosson was the fastest Irishman in tenth place with a time of 2:20:16.

The wheelchair race went to Kenny Herriot of Scotland, who registered a time of one hour 52 minutes and 48 seconds.
