Maurice Greene has pulled out of the IAAF Grand Prix in Lausanne this evening because he is tired. The record holder of the 100 metres was beaten in his last two races by European number one Dwain Chambers and now plans to take a few days rest.
"Maurice Greene will not run. He says he is very tired," said Lausanne meeting promoter Jacky Delapierre. The man from Kansas is hoping he can fully recover from his tiredness and compete in Friday's IAAF Golden League meeting in Paris. The American is expected to race against World junior champion, Mark Lewis-Francis. Greene's absence in Lausanne gives another American, Tim Montgomery a favourite's chance for victory.
