World record holder Maurice Greene wants revenge after losing to Dwain Chambers in the 100 metres at last night's IAAF Golden League meeting in Oslo. British number one Chambers stunned America's Olympic and world champion and also finished ahead of Greene's US team-mate Tim Montgomery. Now Greene is itching for revenge when he takes on Chambers in Sunday's Norwich Union Grand Prix 2 meeting in Sheffield.
"Wait 'til Sunday," was a friendly parting shot he fired in his rival's ear before they left the Bislett Stadium last night. But Greene took nothing away from Chambers, who beat him by one-hundredth of a second in 10.05 seconds with Montgomery clocking 10.10secs.
Greene said: "I can't complain. I prepared myself well for this race. Dwain just prepared himself better. It shows that you never know what can happen in a 100m race. Let's race it again. You can't take anything away from him. He put a good race together. He's really coming along well."
Chambers was delighted with his biggest victory on the international stage. He said: "Maurice Greene is a role model for the sport of athletics. It is nice to beat him and I look forward to racing him again on Sunday."
