This is not a Dublin only story. Don't even begin to think that this is a Dublin story. Match goers, concert goers, and convention goers – if you've ever been to Lansdowne Road or the RDS, you will know exactly where we're speaking of and, no doubt, have a little story of your own to tell.

The people of Ballsbridge and its surrounds will remember Brian and the coffee Kiosk as part of their community.

'I don't think it'll ever be the same again'

Today on Liveline, Joe Duffy spoke to Brian Kenny about a very recognisable 'structure' in Dublin's south side of the city, in Ballsbridge, which has recently sold for a quarter of a million euro.

'It's facing the old Jurys, the Ballsbridge hotel… I think your description of a phone box is better Joe, I think everybody knows it as a wardrobe in the middle of the street'.

The coffee kiosk has just recently sold to a multinational after years of being run by Brian Kenny, who described Friday as a very emotional day as the shutter came down on his little hatch. He told Joe Duffy about business in the Coffee Kiosk, just 5 or 7 square yards, as Joe described it, 'the most expensive piece of real estate in the country!'
