In the middle of O’Connell bridge, there is a spot where two stories intersect. It’s where the Millennium Clock once stood, counting down 120 million seconds to the year 2000, until its abrupt removal before it had completed its task. It’s also where Fr. Pat Noise, fell to his death in 1919, trapped in his carriage. A plaque there now reads:

“This plaque commemorates Fr. Pat Noise, advisor to Peadar Clancy. He died under suspicious circumstances when his carriage plunged into the Liffey on August 10th 1919.”

What happened to the clock? And what happened to Fr. Pat Noise?
