Sean from Tipperary called into Liveline this afternoon to share his story with guest-host, Philip Boucher-Hayes. Sean was the victim of a hit-and-run while on a night out.
Sean explained that he was crossing the road to enter a taxi when he crouched down to his shoelace. He was struck by the wing mirror of a passing car, dragged for a short time and lost consciousness. The driver did not stop.
Waking up in St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by family, Sean was faced with the reality of his injuries, including multiple facial and dental fractures. He told Philip that his scars, though well healed, have affected his self-confidence.
“My eye does a squint when I smile, you know…I don’t like when people look…I’m very self-conscious about it.”
