In January 1990, a Sheela na Gig was stolen from the ruins of Kiltinan church in Tipperary. The medieval carving was thought to be worth millions. It was just one case in a spate of thefts focusing on historical artefacts in Ireland's midlands. In the United States, a man tried to sell a series of stone carvings to a University in Boston. The FBI, in tandem with An Garda Síochána took notice and soon a sting was afoot. Was the man selling stolen goods? And was the Kiltinan Sheela na Gig among them?
