Former Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry joined Ray D'Arcy this afternoon after turning back from the National Ploughing Championships, where she was due to appear. She told Ray that farming conventions have always been her bread and butter. And that she especially likes attending events in Ireland.
"I particularly enjoy Ireland...It is green everywhere, which is absolutely lovely to come to."
Ray asked about fan reaction to Prue Leith, Mary's replacement on Bake Off. What does she say to those who want to see her back as a judge? "It's not going to happen", unfortunately. But as it turns out, she's a fan of Prue.
"If I could have chosen anyone to replace me, it would be Prue."
Good news for Mary fans, though. She's cooking up a new show with Claudia Winkleman focusing on cooking for families.
"We're going to get people really baking. It's a competition for the best family cook."
