How do you motivate your team when you're suffering from depression? This is one of the challenges Wexford Manager Davy Fitzgerald details in his memoir, At All Costs. He sat down with fellow Ireland's Fittest Family alum, Kathryn Thomas on The Ray D'Arcy Show to talk about his experiences with ill health, the people that helped him along the way and the future of Wexford hurling.
Davy recalled a period after he took over management of the Wexford team when everything seemed to be going wrong at once. He was suffering from sleep apnea, had narrowly avoided a serious heart attack and was beginning to experience depression.
"There was nights there where you're on the side of the bed and you're just wondering what the story is...It just shows you how vulnerable you can get."
