Police in the UK have issued an appeal to locate a 20-year-old man who was released "in error" from prison two weeks ago.
Rayon Newby, from east London, was released from Thameside Prison on Friday 17 March, where he had been serving a sentence for assault, harassment and burglary.
London's Metropolitan Police did not elaborate on the "error" which led to Newby being released.
Newby is described as being 1.8m (5’ 10") in height, of heavy build, with a pierced left ear.
Police have said he speaks with a London accent, and has links to the Tower Hamlets and Ilford areas.
They have urged the public not to approach him, adding that is he is spotted by anyone, they should contact police.
Thameside Prison is a 'Category B’ private prison in southeast London.
It is used to hold those do not require maximum security, "but for whom escape still needs to be made very difficult"
The prison can hold just over 1,200 prisoners.
