Large parts of Austria have been battered by summer storms that left a trail of destruction.
Landslides and flooding caused widespread damage in the western regions of Pinzgau and Pongau in the state of Salzburg.
Images from the area showed a train that was washed away and became embedded in the mud.
Roads and railway tracks were also engulfed by the raging waters.
Around 100 people needed to be rescued from cars that became stuck in the mud.
Local emergency services said three people had been injured.
Across the border in southern Germany, a major rescue operation was launched after a bridge was swept away by flood waters.
Four people were rescued from the waters following the incident at Hoellentalklamm, a local police spokesman said.
Massive floods struck Germany last month, leaving almost 200 people dead.
