Seven people have died after a mini-bus with Ukranian licence plates hit a technical vehicle in south-west Poland.

The accident happened at 10.15am local time (8.15 GMT) as the bus was travelling on the A4 superhighway near the town of Krapkowice.

Seven people died at the scene while five were wounded and rushed to hospital.

An investigation is under way into the cause of the collision.

The road is closed in the direction of Katowice.
