Donald Trump has conducted his first interview since taking office as US president.

President Trump speaks to David Muir of ABC News at the White House.

The president said he "absolutely" thinks torture works and that the US should "fight fire with fire" when it comes to taking on terror groups such as the so-called Islamic State.

He also said construction on a wall along the Mexico border would start within months, with planning starting immediately, and that Mexico would pay back to the US "100 percent" of the costs.
