US President Donald Trump's use of twitter since he took office has been widely reported but his latest utterance on the social media platform has caused some 'covfefe' confusion overnight.
Despite the constant negative press covfefe
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 31, 2017
The tweet was published just after midnight in Washington and has since been retweeted more 100,000 times.
It remained on his twitter feed for several hours before being deleted this morning.
It seems though that the president has a sense of humour because his first tweet of the day was this:
Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe" ??? Enjoy!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 31, 2017
He definitely started something though with the original tweet as 'Covfefe' is trending and the jokes keep coming.
