A woman arrested in connection with an investigation into an attack on a police station in Northern Ireland in March is due to appear in court next month.

A "crude but viable" bomb was driven into Lurgan police station in Co Armagh on Monday 30 March.

The device, which was the size of a briefcase, had been placed in the boot of a fast-food delivery driver's car and he was told to drive it to the station.

Earlier, the Police Service of Northern Ireland said three people, including the woman, a 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, were arrested in connection with the investigation.

The boy has since been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The woman, aged 39, has been charged with obstructing police.

She has been released unconditionally in respect of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

She is expected to appear before Craigavon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, 3 June.

"As is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS)," police said.

A 48-year-old man remains in custody.

Police said the investigation continues.
