President Catherine Connolly met youth groups at a peace and reconciliation centre in Derry

President Catherine Connolly has concluded her three-day visit to Northern Ireland by meeting youth groups in Derry.

Groups from both sides of the border were at the event at St Columb's Park House.

It is a peace and reconciliation centre which brings together people who might not otherwise get the chance to meet.

The President heard that young people were invested in building peace and a sense of community.

She met groups from Donegal Youth Service; Reach a cross-community group, and representatives of Derry and Strabane District council, which leads on 58 projects funded by the EU's PeacePlus programme.

Representatives of the North West Islamic Association were also part of the event.

The meeting was the final event of President Connolly's first official visit of her presidency.
