Two children were left "extremely frightened" after three men broke into a house in Co Down, police have said.

A PSNI spokesperson said that the men "smashed patio doors" at the back of the house in Black Quarter Meadown, in Carryduff, at around 7.15pm last night.

The men, who are believed to have been dressed all in black and with local accents, searched the house but left empty-handed.

"Two children were present at the time, and although they were not physically harmed or threatened, they have been left extremely frightened by this intrusion into their home," the PSNI said.

Separately, the PSNI is appealing for information following a robbery in the Labmore Avenue area of west Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

Police said a bus driver in a parked bus was approached by a man armed with a crowbar at around 5am.

The suspect left the scene with a sum of cash in the direction of White Rise.
