A man is due in court in the morning on terrorism charges following a cross-border investigation into violent right-wing extremism.

The 38-year-old was arrested in Ballynahinch, Co Down, yesterday for offences under the Terrorism Act.

He is charged with possession of articles for use in terrorism, collection of information likely to be of use to terrorists and withholding information which might prevent an act of terrorism.

The charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).

Two other people were arrested as part of the same investigation.

A 40-year-old woman, arrested in Lurgan, has been released to be reported to the PPS.

A 48-year-old man, arrested in Kilkeel, has been released following questioning.

The investigation continues.

Earlier this week, the PSNI said the arrests were part of a cross-border investigation, carried out in conjunction with An Garda Síochána, into violent right-wing extremism.
