A 39-year-old man remains in police custody after a 40-year-old man was found dead in a Co Armagh village yesterday morning.

The remains of 'Chrissy' Christopher Burns were discovered at a property in the Cusher Green area of Mountnorris at around 11.30am.

Mr Burns, who was originally from the Warrenpoint area, had suffered "serious head and facial injuries", the PSNI said.

The 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder and continues to be questioned by detectives.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Burns’ family and loved ones at this distressing time as they try to come to terms with their tragic loss."

"Our team continues to work at pace to establish the circumstances surrounding Mr Burns’ death and I would reiterate our appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist us," he added.
