Two men in their 20s have been rescued after a dinghy was swept out to sea in Pollan Bay, Co Donegal.
Both men entered the water from the beach around 4pm and were quickly swept away from the beach as gusts crossed the shoreline.
Within minutes, locals and tourists rang the coastguard and the Rescue 118 helicopter was dispatched from Co Sligo, along with local RNLI crews.
The two men were located around 800m from shore by the RNLI crew, as worried family members and beachgoers watched on.
The men were returned to the shore after around an hour. They were met by an ambulance and gardaí.
