Police in Northern Ireland have arrested a man in south Armagh in connection with the discovery of an attempted improvised explosive device.
The discovery was made following the search of a house in Keady in which police recovered and made safe an improvised explosive device.
The man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of attempting to make explosives in suspicious circumstances.
He was arrested in the Armagh area today and is said to be assisting police with their enquiries.
Police in Northern Ireland carried out the search at a property in the Tassagh Road area outside Keady in support of an investigation by gardaí in Co Monaghan.
Police have said that their enquiries are continuing and they are investigating a potential link between the search and a security alert which occurred at the Ballyards Road area of Milford in Armagh on Tuesday of last week.
Detective Inspector Michael Winters said: "Our enquiries are continuing in relation to this investigation, as we work closely with our colleagues from An Garda Síochána."
Detective Inspector Winters also appealed to anyone who may be able to assist their investigation to come forward.
