Police in Northern Ireland are appealing for information after a man sustained serious head injuries in an incident near the Armagh/Louth border over the weekend.

The man, who is understood to be from north Louth, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The incident took place in the vicinity of Edenappa Road outside Jonesborough in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Three men, aged 27, 34 and 42, were arrested in connection with the investigation but have all since been released on bail to allow police to conduct further enquiries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with the investigation, is asked to contact the PSNI.
