The annual Cavan Arts Festival returns for its eighth edition this weekend, with organisers promising a "diverse and daring" line-up of acts.
The now popular artist-led and volunteer-run celebration promises to have something for everyone with an eclectic mix of music, theatre, dance, visual arts, comedy, circus, and workshops in Cavan Town.
Headline acts performing at Cavan's Townhall Arts Centre include The Blindboy Podcast, comedian Alison Spittle, acclaimed Belgian circus performers OkiDok, and 'The Sound of Time Flying,' a Dermot Healy inspired "all-star musical extravaganza" headed up by acclaimed Cavan guitarist and songwriter, Josh McClorey.
Tomorrow and Sunday, the events will revolve around the festival's iconic Big Top in Con Smith Park, where young and old can enjoy an array of mostly free events.
Other highlights over the weekend will include a special 'Pedal Parade' to coincide with Bike Week 2025 for budding bikers, a green-inspired programme exploring the intersection between art and the environment, and interactive workshops ranging from samba to circus.
