Gardaí have issued a renewed appeal for information following the attempted murder of a man in Lifford, Co Donegal six weeks ago.
Charles Dooher, who is in his 20s, remains in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault at his home shortly after 10am on Monday 20 January.
Mr Dooher and his father were at home when a gang of masked men with irons bars entered their home in broad daylight and attacked them.
Mr Dooher was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for treatment of life-threatening injuries. He remains in a critical condition.
His father, Charles, aged in his 60s, who was in the house was also the victim of a serious assault.
He was brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of less serious injuries.
Two men were arrested by PSNI detectives in the days following the incident.
They were released on bail pending further enquiries.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly anxious to speak to anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) of a silver/grey Peugeot 3008 (2009-2013 model) in the Coneyburrow Road area of Lifford between 10am and 11am on 20 January.
Coneyburrow Road is located along the N15 Lifford to Ballybofey route near Lifford.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line or any garda station.
Gardaí are working with the Police Service of Northern Ireland on the investigation.
