Detectives investigating the shooting of a serving police officer near Belfast earlier this week have charged a man with his attempted murder.
The 29-year-old will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court in the morning.
He will also face charges of false imprisonment and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
The charges relate to an incident at Newtownabbey on Monday evening when an off-duty police officer was shot.
The incident is believed to have involved the officer's personal protection weapon.
He sustained non life-threatening injuries.
Police later confirmed that the injured man was a serving officer but said the incident was not believed to be terrorist related.
Northern Ireland's Police Ombudsman said she was making enquiries about the discharge of a police firearm.
