Police in Northern Ireland have issued a fresh appeal as they assist with an investigation into the disappearance of a west Belfast man in Spain.

John George had been holidaying in Alicante and was reported missing to the PSNI on 18 December after failing to board his flight home.

The family of the the 37-year-old, also known as John Hardy, believe he has been murdered.

Officers from Northern Ireland are liaising with the father-of-two's family and other law enforcement agencies.

The PSNI has no investigative role but has offered to assist its Spanish counterparts.

The PSNI has opened a major incident public portal opened where people can upload photographs, footage or social media videos to be shared with the forwarded and forwarded to Spanish police.

A candlelit vigil for Mr George was held in Belfast on New Year's Eve.
