Police in Northern Ireland arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run road traffic collision in Co Antrim.

The man has since been released on bail to allow for further enquiries.

A woman in her 30s is said to have been struck by a vehicle yesterday evening as she was walking along the Glenravel Road area of Martinstown.

A white van was located by members of the public nearby, but left the scene before the police arrived.

The woman was taken to hospital for injuries that are described as potentially life changing.

Police have issued an appeal for information and witnesses.

"Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, and police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1715 26/10/24," they said.
