A motorcyclist in his 60s has died in a crash in An Bun Beag, Co Donegal yesterday afternoon.
He his the sixth person to die on the roads in Co Donegal in the last three weeks.
The single-vehicle incident occurred on the R257 at around 2.50pm.
The road was closed for technical examination, but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, particularly any road users with video footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area at the time, to contact Milford Garda Station on 074 915 3060, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
The man's death brings to 130 the number of people killed on Irish roads so far this year.
A woman in her 30s died in a two-car collision in Quigley's Point on Friday 6 August, while a woman in her 80s died after being hit by a lorry in St Johnston on Friday 30 August.
Another woman in her 80s died following a two-car collision on the N56 at Inver on the morning of Sunday 25 August.
Martin Mittmansgruber, 50 and with an address in Austria 50s, has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving over the incident.
20-year-old Eoghán Dawson and his 16-year-old cousin Kian Dawson also died following a one-car crash in Quigley's Point on Saturday 24 August.
