Two people who were arrested as part of the investigation into the explosion at a service station in Creeslough, Co Donegal, in 2022 have been released without charge.

The man and woman, both in their 40s, were arrested yesterday.

Gardaí said the investigation is ongoing, with the intention of submitting a file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Four men, three women and three young people, ranging in ages from five to 59, died in the explosion on 7 October 2022.

They were Robert Garwe and his five-year-old daughter Shauna Flanagan Garwe, Catherine O'Donnell and her 13-year-old son James Monaghan, Jessica Gallagher, Martin McGill, James O'Flaherty, Martina Martin, Hugh Kelly and 14-year-old Leona Harper.
