A man in his 80s has died after a crash at Buncrana Pier in Donegal yesterday morning.
The man was found dead inside a car after it was recovered from the water following a multi-agency search and rescue operation.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the pier around 7.30am yesterday morning where a car was in the water.
The man's body was recovered and was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
Gardaí said that all roads in the area have been reopened to traffic following the completion of a technical examination of the scene at Buncrana Pier and Swilly Road.
They are also appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact them.
