A man has sustained serious facial injuries in what police have described as a racially motivated attack in Co Tyrone.
The victim, who is aged in his mid 40s, was assaulted by another man on Railway Street in Strabane during the early hours of New Year's Eve.
The PSNI said it had been a "nasty assault" during which the victim was kicked and punched.
"This attack which is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime, occurred at a time when we know people were out socialising," a spokesperson said.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the attack, which occurred at around 2.15am on Sunday 31 December, or who has relevant footage, to contact them.
