Man charged in connection with Lurgan death

A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with the murder of a man in Lurgan, Co Armagh at the weekend.

The PSNI have said that the man will appear before Craigavon Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A second 31-year-old man arrested as part of the investigation remains in police custody

The body of 23-year-old Odhrán Kelly was found beside a burning car in the Edward Street area in the early hours of Sunday.

Earlier today, two Lurgan women appeared in court charged in connection with the murder.

Stephanie McClelland, 36, from Shan Slieve in the town and Andrea Stevenson, 43, from Edward Street appeared at Lisburn Magistrates' Court.

They are charged with assisting an offender knowing that the person had committed murder by helping them dispose of the body.

The two women both confirmed that they understood the charges against them.

A PSNI detective sergeant told the court he could connect them to the charges.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Craigavon Magistrates' Court by video link on 15 December.
