Rescue services have located a kayaker alive and well who got into difficulty off the Donegal coast this afternoon.
The kayaker made contact himself with the emergency services at about 3pm and said that he was in difficulty near Uaigh.
A full search operation was implemented by the Coast Guard from its Malin Head station involving the Aranmore Lifeboat, Bunbeg Coast Guard rescue boat and shoreline team in An Bun Beag as well as R118, the Sligo-based Coast Guard helicopter.
Several other local vessels also helped with the search.
The casualty was located safe in a cave shortly before 5pm and he was removed from the area by boat before being airlifted to hospital by helicopter.
He was reported to have been in good spirits.
