Police in Belfast are appealing for information after a pipe bomb exploded in the east of the city.
The device went off in an alley at Hyndford Street off the Beersbridge Road around 8.20pm yesterday.
People were moved from nearby homes and an army bomb disposal team was called in.
The PSNI said it was a crude device, but could have caused injury.
Inspector Greg Dawson said: "This was a reckless act carried out in a residential area with no consideration given as to who this device could have injured or killed."
