For the third day in a row Sliabh Liag in south Donegal has been closed to visitors as gardaí continue their investigation into an alleged serious assault in the area over the weekend.
Two people, a man and a woman who were arrested in connection with the incident, were released without charge last night.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who saw anything out of the ordinary in the Killybegs, Cill Charthaigh or Sliabh Liag areas from Saturday afternoon last, 24 June to Sunday night, 25 June to contact them.
It is understood that gardaí are looking for the victim of the alleged assault but are not confirming that this is a missing persons case.
Today's operation at Sliabh Liag involves the gardaí only.
Coast Guard units which had been assisting searches of the area since Monday morning were stood down yesterday evening.
