A man wanted to stand trial over an assault in Co Cork three years ago has been arrested in Northern Ireland.
The PSNI said the 36-year-old was detained in north Belfast on foot of an international extradition warrant.
He is due before an extradition hearing today.
He had been wanted for trial over an assault in Fermoy in August 2020.
A police spokesman said the arrest was another example of partnership working with An Garda Síochána and other agencies.
"Our message is clear that we will relentlessly pursue those that are trying to delay or deny justice to victims of crime," he said.
