Three arrested over attempted murder of two PSNI officers in Tyrone

Police investigating the attempted murder of two police officers in Strabane last November have made three arrests.

Two women, aged 25 and 27, and a 51-year-old man were detained in Strabane, Co Tyrone under the Terrorism Act.

The two officers escaped injury when a roadside bomb was detonated as their vehicle passed by in the Mount Carmel Heights area of the town on 17 November 2022.

They were responding to reports of anti-social behaviour in the area at the time.

Police said as well as the arrests they searched a property and seized some items.

Those detained have been taken to Belfast for questioning.

A man is before the courts charged with two counts of attempted murder in respect of the same incident.
