A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder by gardaí investigating a fatal assault in Co Cavan.
The victim, who was in his 50s, was found with serious injuries at a property in Blacklion at around 9.15am this morning.
He was later pronounced dead.
His remains have been taken to the mortuary in Navan, Co Meath.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out today.
As a result of garda inquiries and follow-on investigations, a man was later arrested on suspicion of murder.
He is being held at Castlerea Garda Station in Co Roscommon.
