A man in his 30s has died following a road crash in Co Donegal in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened on the R265 from the direction of Porthall near Lifford towards Rossgier at around 12.30am.
The man was the only occupant of the car, which is understood to have left the road and hit a tree.
The scene has been preserved by gardaí, who will carry out a forensic examination.
The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information - in particular anyone who travelled this stretch of road between 11.30pm and 1am - to contact them at Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100.
