Firefighting operations are expected to continue throughout the day after a significant fire broke out at a storage unit in north Belfast.

60 firefighters tackled the blaze that broke out shortly after 11pm at the M2 Business Park on Duncrue Street.

Crews involving 13 appliances worked throughout the night in difficult conditions to bring the fire under control and to protect neighbouring property.

When they arrived at the scene, crews were met with a well developed fire in a storage unit containing large quantities of agricultural feed materials.

The fire is now under control and four fire crews are currently dealing with it.

The cause of the fire has been determined as accidental by the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service.

No one was injured during the incident and people in the area are advised to keep their windows closed as smoke continues to rise and drift.
